UFC 151 CANCELED JON JONES TO BLAME

I wasn't planing on coming back with Spinzz Sports till next week but when this news broke i couldn't sit back and not say anything on one of the lowest days in a sport that I love MMA. UFC 151 was scheduled for Saturday September 1st 2012. The main event was going to be the Light Heavyweight Champion and arguably the best fighter in the world Jon Jones going up against MMA legend and arguably the greatest fighter of all time Dan Henderson. This one gonna be one of the biggest fights of the year happening in Las Vegas on Labor Day weekend.

This morning shocking news was leaking out that Henderson was hurt and that the UFC was looking for someone to step in in his place. So are noon today the UFC schedule a conference call for 2 pm which was called the state of the UFC. At this call we would find out all the answers to the questions we are looking for.The events that would happen next none would see coming. UFC president Dana White announced Dan Henderson was hurt with an MCL injury.  Then Dana White said for the first time in UFC history that a UFC event would be canceled. White said that they tried to get a replacement and they found one in Chael Sonnen but Jon Jones declined the fight. It was reviled that Jones trainer Greg Jackson told the champ that its a mistake to take this fight on 8 days notice and Jones agreed by declining the fight. So that lead to the whole card being canceled. It was announced also that Jon Jones will fight Lyoto Machida in Canada on September 22. A fight that Jones really dint wanna fight but has no choice now.

A lot has been said by Dana White and the MMA media about this situation so im not gonna get into that im just gonna speak on what I feel. I have had a problem with Greg Jackson and his thinking for years I think he is an overrated trainer and he is hurting the sport more then helping it. For him to say not to take the fight and force the UFC to cancel the event is a selfish move, but it isnt Greg Jacksons fault totally. I place the most blame on Jon Jones.

Jon Jones is a fighter who I herd about before he became a fighter in the UFC  and really learned to respect his talent as he developed into the fighter he became today, but ever since he became the champion last year his attitude has really changed for the worse. This whole situation really shows that. Jones proved to be a selfish fighter and person. By not taking the fight with Chael Sonnen and letting a whole event go down the drain proves what kind of person he is. By letting the UFC lose money from advisement, the arena, and PPV buys. By letting the under card fighters lose a pay check. The fans that made travel plans to fly to Vegas to watch the fight and see this fight. Ya all the fans that got tickets for the fight will get their money back but as a fight fan I would of paid a lot to see a big fight. The fighter that unlike Jones don't have a NIKE deal and aren't millionaires. Fighters that fight from pay check to pay check. As well as pay their trainers and training partners with the check. Thats the part that gets me the most upset. This selfish person dint wanna take a fight on 8 days notice against a fighter who is moving up in weight and would have no time to train. He wouldn't take that fight and let a whole card and a tone of people lose money.

Fighters like Jon Jones and fighters who fight for Greg Jackson will never have the fan bases That guys like Nick Diaz, Nate Diaz, Bj Penn, Chuck Liddell, Rampage Jackson, Wanderlei Silva, Chael Sonnen, Dan Henderson Sho Gun Rua, and so many other fighters have. Fighters that just wanna go out there and fight and put on a show for the fans. Jon Jones lost all my respect and the respect of all the MMA fans out there. Jon Jones you and Greg Jackson are selfish. I will never root for either one of you again. I hope you and your whole camp lost every fan you guys have you guys should just leave the sport of MMA cause you are the type of people that will hurt its growth. I will have more to say about this on a new mma show im on called Uncaged Warriors.
