2014 NFL PREVIEW

         2014 NFL PREVIEW
We are back people and in a big way with our 2014 NFL Preview. Let's get to it.

 SPINZZ
NFC EAST
1st. New York Giants 9-7
I wanna start this off by saying as much as I love this division it is at a low point. Any of these teams can win it and anyone can finish in last. Here's my case for The Giants. As bad as the new system has looked in the pre season I think it's a change they needed. They acquired players like Dominique Rodger-Cromarte and Walter Thurmond to sure up the secondary. The key is the online if they can play well and give Eli some time the Giants can make a run.-
2nd. Philadelphia Eagles 8-8
Chip Kelly's new offense broke into the league with a splash and it has room to get better. A few things that stops me from picking Philly. The NFL had a whole offseason to plan around and plan a way to stop new schemes. Another is that Nick Floes played out of his mind last year I don't see him putting those record numbers up again. Also while they did acquire Darren Sproles and have Jermey Maclin returning and have one of the leagues best backs In Shady McCoy, but losing Deasaun Jackson is going to be a big lose. They will be in it all year but I think they will fall short.
3rd. Washington 6-10
If RG3 was healthy I would pick them too win the division. I think the defense is going to be one of the most improved in the NFL with the additions of Ryan Clark, Jason Hatcher, and  Brandon Marieweather too go with all pros DeAngelo Hall and Brian Orakpo. The addition of Deasaun Jackson I think will be big time to go with Piere Gracon and Alford Morris. The key to this team is RG3 and form what I saw last year and this preseason I'm not confident he will be that RG3 we all know all season long. I do think we will see flashes and but not the whole year.
4th Dallas Cowboys 4-12
The Cowboys will not go 8-8.....but they will be a lot worse. Let me start with the positives. I think Dallas will have a really good offense. With Tony Romo and Dez Bryant to go along with a young weapon in Terrance Williams they will be fun to watch. The defense on the other hand might be the worst in the league. Losing guys like Lee, Hatcher and Ware from a defense that was already bad as it was dose not help. This will be a long year in big D.

NFC NORTH
1st Chicago Bears 12-4
I really love this Bears team. I think they will be one of the most explosive teams in the league this year. Jay Cutler with Brandon Marshall, Alshon Jeffery's, and Matt Forte in this new offense will only benefit them. People are down on the defense but they still have Peanut Tillman and Tim Jennings. As well as acquiring Jared Allen and Justin Houston on the outside now so the defense will be there. Jay Cutler is the key he needs to play 16 games to give this team a shot at the Super Bowl.

2nd Green Bay Packers 10-6
Packers have a lot to like they have the best QB in football in Aaron Rodgers. A top 5 running back in Eddie Lacy and weapons on the outside with Jordy Nelson and Randle Cobb. Packers have an improved defense to go with guys like AJ Hawk and Clay Mathews. Two things that are stopping me from picking the Packers the Packers have a real tough schedule and I think that the Bears are just gonna be a better team.

3rd Detroit Lions 8-8
The Lions are as talented as any team in the league. These last couple years they should have at least made the playoffs. They got rid of someone who I thought was one of the worst coaches in football in Jim Schwartz and replaced him with Jim Caldwell. They still have Mathew Stafford and Calvin Johnson. They added Golden Tate to go on the outside. The thing that will hurt them is they aren't better then the two teams ahead of them.

4th Minnesota Vikings 4-12
This team can be fun to watch. They have Cordell Paterson and Adrian Peterson. Those guys alone are must see TV but they are lacking everywhere else. They drafted Teddy Bridgewater who I'm not big on, but if he shows any promise the Vikings can be a sneaky team.

NFC SOUTH
1st New Orleans Saints 11-5
There is a lot to like about this team. They are still one of the 3 most explosive teams in the league. Brees and Graham is still as deadly a duo. They lost Sproles but added rookie of the year candidate Brandin Cooks who in this offense can be a really good weapon. The defense still has Rob Ryan running the show and makes them a solid unit. The Saints will be in the thick of things in the NFC.

2nd Tampa Bay Buccaneers 9-7
I am big on this team. They are loaded on both sides of the ball. They added Josh Mccown and even though I think Mike Gelnonon is more talented, Mccown did play last year with similar type of weapons. They have Vincent Jackson and Mike Evans on the outside. As well as talented running back Doug Martin. They are talented all over the defense as well. The biggest thing they did was adding Lovie Smith as the coach. Guy knows how to win and has a really talented team to work with.

3rd Atlanta Falcons 7-9
One of the most disappointing team from last year here. Was not totally do too things of their control. Julio Jones and Roddy White we're not healthy. Stephan Jackson was a bust. The o-line imploded. Matt Rayan was left alone. I think they sured up some things in the draft with the o-line. Julio Jones and Roddy White are healthy this year. They should have some what of a bounce back year.

4th Carolina Panthers 5-11
Your not gonna find a bigger Cam Newton fan then me but I don't see him and his squad having a good year this year. They had a below average receiving core and some how made it worse. They let go franchise leading recover Steve Smith. I do like the rookie Kelvin Benjamin but other then that not much about that group. It doesn't help a big part of the salary cap is locked into Deangelo Williams and Jonathan  Stewart. They will still have an elite defense lead by Luke Kuechly and Greg Hardy. They will be losing a lot of 14-10 games.

NFC WEST

1st Seattle Seahawks 14-2
I was not a believe in this team last year I still think San Fran was the better team last year, but they gave Denver a beating and they brought pretty much everyone back. They did lose some parts on the defensive side and Golden Tate. They still have the best defense in the league. The best home field advantage. Pete Corral is a coach everyone wants two play for. Russel Wilson looks even better. Beast mode is still in affect and they will get a whole healthy year of maybe the fastest guy in the league Percy Harvin. The thing I love most bout this team is the attitude they are coming in this year with how you have to take the championship from them. The only thing that will stop them from going to the Super Bowl is not getting home filed but I don't see that happening.

2nd San Francisco 49ers 11-5
After the draft this was my pick to win the Super Bowl. Then players started getting suspended most notably Aldon Smith. The rumor about trading coach Jim Haraugh. This team has had a lot going on which is why they looked bad in the pre season. That being said they still have an elite defense that will get guys back including Navarow Bowmen half way through the year. The offense will be one the best with Boldin, Crabtree, and Steve Johnson. Frank Gore is still a tank and his back up Carlos Hyde will be there to help shoulder the load. If this team comes out and starts the year on the right foot they can be a Super Bowl contender if not it could be a disappointing year.

3rd Arizona Cardinals 9-7
Another team that as the off season went on just fell apart. They ended last year 10-6 and missed the playoffs and we're coming back with that core. They have had some tough injuries on the defensive side of the ball this pre season that will hurt but they still have Patrick Peterson who I think is the best corner in the game. On the offensive side of the ball Michael Floyd is gonna have a break out year to go with Larry Fitz. This team will still be as competitive as any but fall short.

4th St.Louis Rams 6-10
The theme of this division has been falling apart since training camp. The Rams were picked to make the playoffs this year by a lot of teams. Then franchise Quarterback Sam Bradford tore his ACL and now they are in flux. They had a great draft and have a top 10 defense so they will still be very competitive but they are now a year away.

AFC
AFC EAST
1st New England Patriots 12-4
Brady and Belicheck are still there so right there is at least  10 wins. They are suppose to get a healthy year out of Gronk with is a big X factor for them. The biggest thing the Pats did was sign Revis and Browner at corner back. This will be the best duo at that position they have had in years. If they play to the level they can the Pats can be going back to the Super Bowl. If not it will be another disappointing year in New England.

2nd New York Jets 7-9
The Jets made a lot of moves this off season. Signing guys like Mike Vick, Eric Decker, and Chris Johnson. The defense is still elite with Rex running it. The reasons why I don't see them making the playoffs is the secondary is weak, and Geno starting. I am a believer in Geno but I think that Vick gives this team the best chance right now .

3rd Miami Dolphins 6-10
I will admit I am not a Ryan Tannahill fan. I watched him in college and he did not show me anything. Still today he hasn't. Him along with Joe Philbin who I don't think is a good coach will be the down fall for this team that has some pretty good parts.

4th Buffalo Bills 3-13
You haven't been good for years. You have an unproven quarterback. You are in Buffalo where it gets cold and windy. So what do you do? Trade this years and next years draft for a receiver. While I am I fan of Sammy Watkins and think he will be a pro bowler the Bills just seem lost right now. They do have a good defense and some weapons with Watkins and Spiller but they need more help.

AFC NORTH
Cincinnati Bengals 11-5
This team is as talented as any in football. They get knocked for the playoff success the last few years but 3 years ago if you woulda told people they would have this run they laugh. They have one of the best receivers in AJ Green with upstart 2nd year player Gio Bernard. The defense is loaded. Geno  Atkins is coming back. Along with Leon Hall who with rookie Darqueze Dennard with be as good as any corner back duos in the league.

2nd Baltimore Ravens 10-6
Ravens are gonna look to return to playoffs after missing it last year. Ravens had a busy off season with the whole Ray Rice mess. They did add Steve Smith to help out Joe Flaco .They also drafted CJ Mosley who I'm big on. This team is built to make a return to the playoffs.

3rd Pittsburgh Steelers 8-8
The Steelers had an up and down year last year. They were also one Chiefs kick away from making the playoffs last year. Mike Tomlin is still a really good coach and Big Ben is still a winner who can get the job done. They have player makers like Bell and Brown on the offensive side of the ball. The weird thing about this team is that the defense isn't there and might be what holds them back. Even though they do have defensive ROY candidate Ryan Shazier.

4th Cleveland Browns 5-11
The Browns have a really good defense. They drafted rookie Justin Gilbert who looks really good and will help them out a lot. They have a talented tight end I'm Jordan Cameron. They STILL don't know Josh Gordans status new news comes out every day. Now the quarterback situation. JOHNY MANZEL SHOULD BE STARTING. If you think he shouldn't you the never watched him in college and even in the pre season. I will admit it Johny hasn't looked great but he's looked better then Hoyer who's been in the league longer and supposedly has a better grasp of the plAybook. Now the browns wounded why they struggled for so many years.

AFC SOUTH
1st Indianapolis Colts 10-6
I don't know what to think of this team. On paper they look good having Luck with Wayne, Nicks, and Hilton. That should get people excited. The you have Trent in the backfield who some people still believe in. The D is still suspect. With them adding guys like Arthur Jones and D'Qwell Jackson. They luck out in being in a weak division and are poised for a big Anderw Luck season. Let's see if they put it together this year and build off last year.

2nd Houston Texans 7-9
Clowney and Watt that alone should get football fans excited and have opposing QBs scared. They imploded last year but look to rebound this year. The D will be one of the toughest to play against with Watt and Clowney. They will have a healthy Arian Foster this year which will help. The QB situation is stopping me from going out on a limb and picking them to make the playoffs. Ryan Mallet has to start for the, to have a shot.

3rd Tennessee Titans 6-10
The Titans just seem to be sitting here in a weird spot. They aren't terrible but they aren't good. Jake Loker is solid, but he's never healthy. They have talented rookie running back Bishop Sankey coming in to replace Chris Johnson. One thing to watch if something happens with Loker and Zach Mettenberger comes in. He is reAlly talented and could be the future.

4th Jacksonville Jaguars 4-12
Another team I don't know what they are doing. Blake Bortles is the obvious choice to start yet you are going with Chad Henney? I am a fan of their coach, but decisions like this are why they are always picking in the same part of the draft every year. They also have a nice young receiving core with Shorts, Lee, and suspended Blackmon. As well as new running back Toby Garhart. That being said ..START BORTLES.

AFC WEST
1st Denver Broncos 12-4
Last year was a near perfect season for Denver and Payton Manning. Broke almost every offensive record and cruised to the Super Bowl..... Then they ran into the Seahawks and the dream year turned into a nightmare. This is a new year that has Denver the favorites to return to the big game. They added players like Warre, Ward, and Talib on the defensive side of the ball. As well as Emmanuel Sanders to replace Eric Decker which I think is an upgrade. Wes Welker will miss time cause if a suspension and they have 2nd year running back monte ball stepping up now. With all that being said this team goes as far as Payton does. I think once again we will see them making a run

2nd San Diego Charger 10-6
A lot of people are picking this team to make a run. They have the same team coming back. Lock down corner Dexter Flowers coming in will only help. Philip Rivers will always be there for you to put up solid numbers. A really good coaching staff. They will be a tough team for anyone. Only thing that hurts them is they are in Denver's division and will have to go on the road come playoff time.

3rd Kansas City Chiefs 7-9
The Chiefs had a predictably good year last year. Lead by one the best defenses in the league. Andy Reid coming in? As well as Alex Smith and oh yeah that Jamal Charles guy. That all being  said all signs point to a little bit of a disappointing  year. Lost some parts of the defense. They also had a really heartbreaking playoff lose that's hard to come back from. Also they are to much Jamal Charles or bust. I don't see the playoffs IN KC this year.

4th Oakland Raiders 4-12
If this was 5 years ago the Raiders be a threat with the additions of Tuck, MJD, Schuab, and Woodley. They are once again looking at a last place finish one thing in will give them they made a smart move by naming Derrick Carr the starting QB one thing these other teams won't do. Thank you Oakland.

NFL Preview

AFC East

Bills - (4-12) - Just not enough talent on this team. Sammy Watkins will be good
but EJ Manuel didn't look good last year and CJ Spiller is always hurt.

Jets - (8-8) - Jets will be improved but I dont know if they are good enough to
be a playoff team. Geno Smith will be good and I like the Eric Decker signing but not sure if they can win
more then 8 games.

Patriots - (11-5) - The Pats are the class of the division and adding a Darelle
Revis will only make this team more dangerous. If Gronks healthy they are a legit title contender.

Dolphins - (6-10) - Dolphins will be a mediocre team this season. I like the new
offensive coordinator they got but Ryan Tannehill is nothing special and is
probably not the guy to lead the Dolphins to the playoffs.

AFC West

Broncos - (13-3) - Once agains the Broncos should be the class of the AFC. They
did lose Decker but Emmanuel Sanders is a nice pickup and TJ Ward and Aqib Talib are really nice pieces
on d.

Chargers - (10-6) - Chargers are a dark horse team to make a deep run in the
playoffs. With Phillip Rivers throwing to Keenan Allen they have one of the best QB-WR combos in the
league.

Chiefs - (8-8) - After a hot start last season the Chiefs fell back down to
earth and eventually lost in the opening round to the Colts and I think this
teams in for more of a down season this year. Charles can't do it all himself.

Raiders - (5-11) - Should be another losing season in Oakland but this might be
a little more enjoyable to watch for Raider fans. I like Derek Carr will be a
big time qb in this league and Khalil Mack has a chance to be the best linebacker in football.

AFC South

Colts - (11-5) - Colts should win this division. Adding Hakeem Nicks to TY
Hilton and Reggie Wayne gives Andrew Luck a nice group of receivers. The d should also be improved.

Texans - (7-9) - I like the fact that they traded for Ryan mallet because I
think he could be a really good QB in this league. Throw in the Watt-clowney
combo and this team could surprise. Not sure they can make a run at a playoff
spot but this is the type of team that I would look out for to steal a couple of wins vs good teams.

Titans - (5-11) - I can't see this team doing much this year. I like the
upgraded offensive line but with no Chris Johnson and the often injured Jake Locker this looks like a lost
year for the titans.

Jaguars - (4-12) - Blake Bortles Is the real deal and will be a stud QB in this
league. But he's not starting. No more MJD. Still a decent amount of play
makers. Marquise Lee was a steal in the draft and will a lot closer to
Sammy Watkins then people think.

AFC North

Bengals - (12-4) - I'm a Bengals fan so I'll get that out of the way now. Top to
bottom this is the most talented roster in the leagues. Geno Atkins and Leon
Hall are back healthy. Darqeuze Dennard is the next lockdown corner in the
league. They have a really good young RB duo. Andy Dalton will prove the haters
wrong and win multiple playoff games this season. AJ Green is the best in the business and needs no
other mentioning.

Ravens - (10-6) - The Ravens have a shot to make another deep playoff run. I
think once Ray Rice comes back he will have something to prove. Steve Smith was
a nice veteran signing. And the ravens have the least talked about star
defensive player in the league in CB Jimmy Smith who can lock down a big time reciever as well as
anyone.

Steelers - (7-9) - Steelers are a team I see being competitive vs anyone but
losing a lot of close games. I just don't see them on the Bengals or Ravens level. It wouldn't surprise me if
they won more games.

Browns - (4-12) - I'm a Johnny football fan and he should be a really exciting
player but even if he does get the starting job I think this browns team will
have trouble winning games. The d is good but the offense is just not there right now. No josh Gordon
really hurts them.

NFC East

Giants - (6-10) - The giants didn't look good in pre season and Eli doesn't look
anything like the qb who has 2 rings. A new system is being installed there and
maybe they will get better as the season goes along but it's hard seeing them winning more then 6 games.

Eagles - (10-6) - I think they win this division. They have one of the best and
most dynamic players in the league in Lesean McCoy and a healthy Jeremy Maclin gives Foles a Desean
Jackson replacement.

Redskins - (9-7) - Jay Gruden is a solid cosh and should help revitalize RG3.
Desean Jackson was a good weapon signing and they should be in the running for a playoff spot in the NFC

Cowboys - (8-8) - I don't think the Cowboys will be as bad as people think. They
have the offense to be able to stay in games if they become shooitouts. I don't
think this is a playoff team but it a division like this where it always seems to be close and wide open it
wouldn't shock me if Dez Bryant wins them this division.

NFC West

49ers - (11-5) - the 49ers should once again be in the running for a Super Bowl.
Colin Kaepernick has a real nice receiving core with the addition of Stevie
Johnson and as always the defense will be one of the best in the league.

Seahawks - (13-3) - The Seahawks have a good shot at repeating as champions. A
healthy Percy harvin will be key as I don't think the receiving core is that
deep without him. The defense and home field alone is good enough for double
digit wins anyways and I expect them to get there easily.

Cardinals - (10-6) - This is one team I really like. Particularly the offense.
Michael Floyd is the next big thing at reciever and when you got a guy like
Larry Fitz on the opposite side your gonna be a force. Throw in a guy who I
think is gonna be a stud in John Brown you have a scary offense. Andre Ellington
might be lost for a few weeks which isn't good because he's the game breaker
they need to make this offense elite but I think the cards will have a chance to grab one of the wild card
spots.

Rams - (3-13) - No Sam Bradford this season for the Rams and it looks like they
are headed for another lost year. If anything they can hope Tavon Austin turns
into the guy they want and I think Kenny Britt will have a comeback year.

NFC North

Packers - (11-5) - Aaron Rodgers could have a MVP type season and there's a lot
of talent on this squad. The question is can they get a tough win in the
playoffs if they have to face a Seahawks or 49ers team?

Lions - (8-8) - This team always seems to disappoint. They have a franchise QB
who can put up crazy stats and probably the most dominant player in the NFL in
Calvin Johnson. I think I see another disappointing season in Detroit this year
though. I don't think the overall talent is there to compete for a Super Bowl.

Bears - (9-7) - The Bears have a scary offense with guys like Matt Forte,
Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffrey. Jay Cutler is talented enough to lead them
to the playoffs and win some games but will the defense hold up? Jared Allen was
a nice signing to replace peppers but a lot of questions need to be answered about this team.

Vikings - (4-12) - Mike Zimmer is a genius defensively and I think Teddy
Bridgewater fell further then he should have but this teams still in semi
rebuild mode. Yes Adrian Peterson is there still and Cordarelle Patterson looks
like another Percy harvin type for them but I don't see them competing for a playoff spot his year.

NFC South

Saints - (13-3) - The Saints are my pick to represent the NFC in the SB. They
should breeze through this division. Drew Brees will be in the running for MVP
and Brandin Cooks will prove to be one of the best picks in this past draft.

Panthers - (8-8) - Cam Newton is hobbled right now and has one of the worst
receiving corps in the league despite drafting Kelvin Benjamin who i think will
be very good. Newtons ability and the d led by Luke Kuechly should win them some games but I don't see
them making a playoff run again.

Bucs - (5-11) - They aren't starting Mike Glennon. Why I don't know . That will
cost them some games. Vincent Jackson and Mike Evans won't be a fun duo for
corners to play an Doug Martin will have a much better year then he had last season but this still looks
like a below average Bucs team.

Falcons - (9-7) - Julio is back healthy and the key will be protecting Matt Ryan
this year. They could have a big bounce back season and I think they'll contend for a playoff spot.
