The Pros and Cons in letting Jeremy Linn go
Big news is starting to come out that the New York Knicks will not match Jeremy Linns offer sheet from the Houston Rockets. This is a bit of a shocker considering all that happen with Linn and the Knicks this season. If this happens this will be a big blow to the Knicks but this may be a good thing as well. We are gonna look at the good and the bad in letting Linn go.

Pros
Letting Linn go could be a good thing for the Knicks. The money he was going to get was a lot for a unproven player. Linn did have a good run last year but when teams started figuring him out he wasn't the same and its might not be worth the 25 million to a guy that we still don't know how good he is. Linn also had a lot of turnovers this past season. As good as Linn was he turned the ball over a tone. His defense wasn't the best as well. When it came to covering the likes of Derrick Rose and even Mario Chalmers Linn had a tough time.
He also had a tough time meshing with Melo. Linn and Melo weren't on the same page at all this season when they played together. Linn played better with Amare Stoudemire  The big reason that people are starting to talk about is the possibility of getting Chris Paul next off season. That is a big thing the Knicks are looking at here. They aren't gonna spend all this money for Linn when they can get Chris Paul. The Knicks haven't wanted Chirs Paul for almost three years now. Not bringing back Linn might give them a chance to finally get him.

Cons
Before we talk about the basketball reasons why letting Linn go would be a bad idea lets talk about the economical impact it could have. Jermey Linn with his "Linnsanity" really brought a lot of new fans and money to the Knicks. The Asian community was a big supporter of Linn and bought a lot of Linn merchandise. Letting Linn go will lose the Knicks a little bit of money and fans.
The Knicks have always tried to get established veterans and never built the team around young guys. They finally got a young point guard that handled the spot light well in New York and they are gonna let him go? This has always been my problem with the Knicks. They never build around young guys. They had a good young core with Landry Feilds, Iman Shumpert, and Jermey Linn to go along with the big three. To me if they let Linn have a whole training camp with Melo and also have Jason Kidd teach him the Knicks could of had something special.

In my opinion I think the Knicks should of kept Linn. I don't think they are getting Chris Paul and I think give Melo and chance with Linn after a whole camp the Knicks could have special.
