UFC 148 PREVIEW: THE BIGGEST PREVIEW OF THE BIGGEST FIGHT CARD IN MMA HISTORY....A poster or logo for UFC 148: Silva vs. Sonnen II.
This Saturday July 7, 2012 the biggest fight and the biggest fight card in MMA history will take place live in Las Vegas Nevada. As Anderson Silva one of the greatest fighters of all time goes up against his biggest rival and the only man to push Silva in his UFC career Chael Sonnen in a rematch for the Middleweight championship of the world. Also two UFC icons will face off in their trilogy as soon to be inducted UFC Hall of Famer and former UFC Light Heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz goes up against fellow former UFC Light Heavyweight champion Forest Griffin. This will be Ortiz last fight in his career.

Going into this card a lot of people are calling this the biggest fight card of all time and calling Silva Sonnen two the biggest fight of all time. I agree with both. I think that this is going to be the biggest fight because you have the greatest champion and fighter in UFC history fighting in what could be one of his last fights. Hes going against the man who came the closest in stopping him in 2010 when Sonnen won every round and landed the most strikes in a fight in UFC history all for that to be washed a way when Silva threw up a last ditch triangle choke. Sonnen has also talked a lot of smack about Silva, his family friends and his country of Brasil.  Silva has responded to the trash talk which is un Silva like. We will get more into this fight in a little bit.

Another big part of this card is the retirement of Tito Ortiz. Tito love him or hate him is one of the greatest champions in UFC history and him retiring is a big deal. He will also be going into the UFC Hall of Fame that week as well. He will go against Forest Griffin for the 3rd time. Both Fights before were close and exciting this one should be no different with these two former champions

This article I will preview each fight and give my prediction on each fight as well. Spinzz Sports will also for the first time be doing a live scoring update and give you results live as they happen. Lets get started
FACEBOOK FIGHTS
Yoislandy Izquierdo vs Rafaello Oliveira Oliveria is on a two fight losing streak and is gonna be going all out for a win in this fight to try not to get cut. Izquierdo is coming into this fight on a one fight losing streak after losing in his UFC debut. I see Oliveria trying to take it to the ground and getting a sub and failing and Izaquierdo taking advantage
Izquierdo by 2nd round TKO
FX FIGHTS
John Alessio vs Shane Roller
Two guys trying to to make the way up the UFC light weight ranks. Shane Roller is on a three fight losing streak and could be seeing his UFC career come to a close with a lose on Saturday. Meanwhile Alessio is looking for his first UFC win after losing to Mark Bocek in his last fight. I think we are gonna see Roller gonna use his wrestling to control Alessio to a win

Constantinos Philppou vs Riki Fukuda
Classic striker vs grappler fight in this one. Both these fighters are off to good starts in their UFC careers. Fukuda should be 2-0 in his career but he lost a bad ddecsion to Nick Ring. Philppou after losing his first fight has won three straight. I think Philppou striking is so good that he is gonna take advantage and use it to finish this fight.
Philppou 1st round KO *Knock Out of the Night*
Melvin Guillard vs Fabricio Camoes
Two lightweights going in different directions go at it in this one Comes is on a three fight win streak and is looking to put his name on the map vs a well known name like Guillard. With Melvin he is on a two fight win streak after going on a nice win streak and was on his way to a title shot. To me this fight comes down to what Melvin shows up the focoused one or cocky? I think the focoused one will show up and get the job done.
Guillard 2nd round TKO
Gleison Tibau vs
Khabib Nurmagomedov

Two leightweights looking to become contenders face off here. Tibau on a three fight win streak looks to make a statement vs Khabib who is undefeated. For Khabib this will be his second UFC fight he won his first one by choke. To me this is gonna be Khabib coming out party and we will see a big win by him to make him go 18-0

PPV MAIN CARD FIGHTS
Ivan Menjivar vs Mike Easton
A big fight in the UFC Bantamweight division here. The winner can be in line for a title fight down the road. Easton is on a 6 fight winning streak and is looking to make a statement that he is one of the top fighters out there in 135. He faces Ivan Menjivar who was going to fight Rena Barao, but when Dominick Cruz got hurt and Urijah Faber needed a oppent Barao stepped in and this fight was made. I think this can be fight of the night and I think Menjivar is gonna be determined to show he is a top contender. Menjivar 3rd Round TKO

Chad Mendes vs Cody McKenzie This is a very interesting fight. To me this is going to show a lot about both fighters. For Cody McKenzie is he ready to fight top level fighters. The king of the guillotine choke McKenzie is 2-2 in the UFC. For Mendes its gonna be how dose he not only recover from his first lose, but losing in a title fight to Jose Aldo the way he did. I think Mendes is gonna make a statement and show McKenzie he isnt ready for his level yet.
Mendes 1st round TKO

Dong Hung Kim vs Damian Mia  If you are a fan of grappling this  is your fight. We have a BJJ Black Belt going up against a Judo Black Belt.  Usually when you get two great ground fighters it more then likely stays on its feet. I think this fight will be no different. While Kim does have a kick boxing background, Mias striking has been on point lately. Also he has been in there with some of the best strikers in the world. Another factor is Mia looking to rebound after his tough lose to Chris Weidmen as well. I see a good fight happening here with Mia coming out on top.
Mia Decision

Cung Lee vs Patrick Cote Hes back!! Patrick Cote returns to the UFC. After an injury to Vitor Belfort forced him out of his fight with Wanderlei Silva and forced Lees opponent  Rich Franklin to step in this left and opening for Cote. Cote who hasn't been in the UFC since UFC 121 after a lose to Tom Lawler. He is now on a 4 fight win streak and looks to get a UFC win for the first time in 5 years. He will face a motivated Cung Lee who got embarrassed  is his UFC debut by
Wanderlei Silva. To me this might be Lees last fight so he is gonna come out guns blazing but if he don't and he take Cote lightly which he has been known to do we can see an upset.Lee 1st roun TKO

CO MAIN EVENT TITO ORTIZ VS FOREST GRIFFIN III

The trilogy will happen. The last fight for Tito Ortiz will happen as well. The first two fight were close and exciting. I think this one will be no different. I think for Tito who is a very emotional fighter the emotions of this being his last fight and him being inducted into the Hall of Fame will drive him in this one. For Forest he wants to forget about that embarrassing KO lose to Sho Gun in August. Also a factor for both men is that the winner of this fight can say he got the better of the other fighter for the rest of their career. For the fight I think Tito is gonna use his improved boxing to set up a take down and punish Forest from inside his guard. For Forest its down to sprawl and brawl. This fight is so tough considering everything that is involved. Knowing these two and what they can do this can be the one that steals the show.

MAIN EVENT SILVA VS SONNEN II

The biggest fight in MMA history Anderson Silva vs Chael Sonnen. We all know what happen in the last fight. How Chael beat Anderson every way possible. He took him down and beat him up on the ground. He rocked him and dropped him on the feet. He fought a perfect fight up until the last two minutes when Silva threw up a triangle choke and won the fight. Ever since that fight the hatred has grown with these two. Chael has said more and more bad things about Anderson. Which all came to ahead for Silva on a conference call when he said he will "break his teeth" among other things. Chael may have gotten in the head of Silva with all the stuff he has said but is it for the good or bad?

To me breaking down this fight it comes down to how much has Siva worked on his take down defense. We know Chael is gonna walk foward take him down and beat him up. What will Anderson do to stop that?   The whole time up until this fight I was leaning towards Chael to win and get the job done, but ever since what I herd from Silva these past few weeks im starting to change my mind. No matter what the out come the UFC 185 pound weight class wont be the same. A Sonnen win means a new king of 185 and a new crop of tittle fights. A win by Silva leads to whats next? Also what weight class is next? All these questions will be answered Saturday no MMA fan should miss this one.
Silva 3rd Round TKO
