The saga that is Dwight Howard and The Nets..
Tell me if you herd this one before? Dwight Howard wants to be traded to the Nets? This team it might be
more of a long shot then ever. News has come out today that Dwight has said he will only sign
a extension with the Nets, and if he don't get traded there he will go to Brooklyn after the season is over.
When you first hear this if you are a Net fan you must be thinking we are finally going to get him.Well not
quiet yet. Today news has also came out that the Nets are close to bringing back Deron Williams. Once again seems
good to fans that want to see Dwight in Brooklyn, here is the catch. Reports are coming out that the Nets are
about to finish a deal in which Joe Johnson will be going to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for The Nets are
reportedly offering Jordan Farmar, Johan Petro, Anthony Morrow and Jordan Williams, along with a signed-
and-traded DeShawn Stevenson and a future first-round selection. If this trade happens this will all but end
chances of Dwight going to The Nets for two reasons. First because most of the parts that would go to the
Magic would be going to Atlanta and second The Nets would have no money to give Dwight.
This is the worst thing that can happen to Dwight. If this all happens it hurts him in so many different ways.
First he loses out on a chance to go to the team hes wanted to go to all along. Also it makes his decison to
opt into his contract and stay in Orlando look foolish because now he won't go to the team he wanted to.
Finally where will he go now? All the top teams he would go to come next year will have no cap room or
parts to go for him. So Dwight might have to go to a team like The Rockets or The Warriors.
In a time period in the NBA where all the superstars are calling the shots and making supper teams. One of
the biggest superstar might be stuck and over played his own hand. You cant blame The Nets from moving
on and you can't blame the Magic for not trading the best center in the game away for nothing. Dwight
Howard might of just reached his worst case situation. Now the question is will Dwight ever have a team
around him to win a championship?
